The American Citizen Planner Program (ACP) can make a real difference in how communities develop. ACP prepares individuals to face community development challenges with confidence by providing time-tested educational content to help make decisions on important local issues like housing, mobility, farmland and natural resources protection, healthy communities, water quality and quantity, urban design and Smart Growth.
Local officials, who are often appointed with little or no planning and zoning experience, can rely on ACP – curriculum proven to be comprehensive without being overwhelming.
Elected and appointed citizen planners who have attended American Citizen Planner courses testify to the value of learning the latest in the art and science of land use planning. Paraprofessional citizen planners can become nationally certified Master Citizen Planners upon successful completion of the American Citizen Planner Examination.
